Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Dec 10: The S.K. Police Academy, Udhampur, today inaugurated a comprehensive 5-day training programme focused on the critical topic of "Safety of Women." The training has brought together 24 police officers from various districts across Jammu & Kashmir. Inaugural Ceremony Highlights: The programme was inaugurated by Shri Rajinder Gupta, IPS, SSP, Deputy Director (Indoor/Trainings), with Smt. Kavita Suri, Professor at the University of Jammu, attending as a distinguished guest. Shri Rajinder Gupta, in his welcome address on behalf of the Academy's Director, highlighted the importance of honing investigative skills, especially in cases involving women and children and in emerging areas such as cybercrime. He emphasized the primary goal of ensuring successful convictions through detailed investigations and adherence to legal frameworks. Equip participants with advanced investigative techniques. Provide in-depth knowledge of relevant laws, including: POCSO Act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Juvenile Justice Act IT Act Other pertinent legal provisions. The programme will feature lectures and insights from distinguished speakers, including members from the Police Academy, academia, and cyber forensics experts. The course is being coordinated by Inspector Rakesh Manni, with assistance from SI Avtar Krishan, members of the S.K. Police Academy faculty. This training initiative seeks to strengthen investigative capacities and ensure the safety and legal protection of women and children by providing police personnel with specialized knowledge and skills. |
