J&K police seize vehicle acquired from narcotics trade in Srinagar | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Dec 10: Jammu and Kashmir police on Tuesday said that they have seized a vehicle allegedly acquired through proceeds of illegal narcotics trade in Srinagar. Srinagar Police have seized a vehicle from two drug peddlers identified as Asif Ahmad Sheikh and Arif Ahmad Sheikh, both residents of Babapora Barthana. "Both the accused persons have been arrested vide case FIR no.136/2024 u/s 8/20 NDPS Act of PS Parimpora, and the vehicle used in the commission of the crime was also seized," police said. "During the financial investigation of the case, it came to the fore that the vehicle was acquired through proceeds of illegal narcotics trade by these accused persons," they said. The seizure of the vehicle has been made under the provisions of section 68 of the NDPS Act. "J&K Police reiterates its commitment in eradicating the drug menace and dismantling the infrastructure supporting narcotics trafficking," they added. |
