Kathua Police raid pharmacy, seize huge quantity of banned drugs | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Dec 10: A special team of Kathua Police conducted a raid at Malgotra Pharmacy in Chhan Rorian, leading to the seizure of a significant quantity of banned drugs. The raid, carried out under the supervision of senior officers, resulted in the recovery of the following substances: • 675 tablets of Tapentadol (Exhibit-B) • 274 tablets of Alprazolam • 80 Neurotram capsules (Exhibit-D) • 156 Pregabalin capsules The pharmacy owner, identified as Munish Gupta, son of Madan Lal, a resident of Chhan Rorian, Tehsil Marheen, District Kathua, was found in possession of these contraband drugs. The seized items were handed over to Police Station Rajbagh for further investigation. A case has been registered under FIR No. 255/2024 under sections 8/21/22 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The police have launched an investigation to determine the source of these banned substances and any potential links to larger drug networks. This operation reflects Kathua Police’s unwavering commitment to combating the illegal drug trade and protecting the community from its harmful impact. |
