Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 20: St. Mary's Infant Convent School (SMICS) kicked off a two-day Christmas celebration with a vibrant inauguration at its pre-primary wing, transforming it into a winter wonderland. Young children, dressed as angels, shepherds, and Santa Claus, brought the spirit of Christmas to life with their performances. The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Dr. Ruth K. Masehi, Head of the Department of English at MAM College; Rev. Robin Gill, retired Finance Head of Indian Oil Corporation; and Fr. Jaffat Masih, Assistant Priest of St. Mary's Cathedral. The school's Chairperson, Mrs. Anna Mary, and Director, Mr. Anthony Ignatius, welcomed the guests with potted plants as a token of appreciation. The program began with a welcome address by Principal Mrs. Sheetal Anthony, followed by the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries. The highlight of the event was the performance by the pre-primary students, featuring angelic carol singing, energetic dances, and captivating skits. The guests praised the children's talent and the school's commitment to educational excellence. The festivities concluded with the unveiling of a beautifully adorned crib symbolizing the birth of Jesus Christ, followed by the National Anthem, marking a joyous and uplifting start to the Christmas celebrations at SMICS. |
