Early Times Report MARH, Dec 20: Government Degree College Marh successfully organized its maiden "MISSION YUVA: Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan," a new initiative by the J&K government aimed at providing employment opportunities to the youth of the Union Territory. The program targeted students across all semesters and focused on fostering entrepreneurship to create job providers instead of job seekers. The program was conducted under the mentorship of Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul, Principal of the college, who encouraged students to embrace self-employment and entrepreneurship. The Chief Guest, Sh. Pawan Kumar Parihar, JKAS, Special Secretary, Labour and Employment Department, delivered an insightful address on Mission YUVA's objectives, including creating a thriving hub of enterprises and employment in J&K through innovative strategies, nano-loan facilities, and equity-based opportunities. Dr. Vishal Sharma, Nodal Officer for Mission YUVA and a member of the Higher Education Department, was the Guest of Honour. He emphasized enhancing the youth's capacity, capital, and connectivity to drive holistic growth across the UT. Both dignitaries were presented with mementos as tokens of appreciation. The event was coordinated by the cultural committee of the college, led by Dr. Ashu Jolly, Dr. Sheetal Sharma, and Dr. Shakun Sharma, the Nodal Officer of the YUVA Club. The program's anchoring was managed by Associate Professor Madhvi Prashar (HOD Botany), and the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Priya Sharma (HOD Economics). Faculty members, including Prof. Anita Kumari, Prof. Imtiaz, Dr. Ram Dayal, Dr. Rahul Sharma, and others, actively participated alongside enthusiastic students.
