Udhampur police arrest two drug peddlers, seize heroin | | | Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Dec 20: In a significant operation against drug trafficking, Udhampur Police apprehended two accused and confiscated 4 grams of heroin during a surprise vehicle check in the Garh Samna Banj area. The operation was led by Station House Officer (SHO) Sohan Singh of Police Station Majalta. A motorcycle bearing registration number JK08L 5355 was stopped for inspection. Upon frisking the rider and pillion passenger, the police recovered 4 grams of a heroin-like substance. The accused were identified as Diwakar Divedi s/o Sunil Divedi, a resident of Billawar, Kathua and Javed Ahmed s/o Nek Mohd., a resident of Gurha Kalyal, Ramkot, Kathua. Both accused were arrested on the spot, and a case has been registered under FIR No. 118/2024 at Police Station Majalta under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act. Further investigations are ongoing.
