Two drug peddlers arrested, heroin and firearm recovered | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 20: In a major operation, J&K Police have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 265 grams of heroin-like substance along with a pistol and two live cartridges in Bishnah. The accused, Jaswinder Singh alias Jimmy and Jarnail Singh, both residents of Bhour Camp Chatta, were intercepted near Palli Morh, Ring Road, Bishnah, while traveling in a vehicle bearing registration number JK02BN 0205. Acting on specific intelligence, the police, along with an Executive Magistrate, laid a naka at the location and successfully apprehended the suspects. A case has been registered under FIR No. 209/2024 at Police Station Bishnah under sections of the NDPS Act and Arms Act. Both individuals have a history of criminal activities, with Jaswinder having six FIRs and Jarnail two FIRs registered against them in various police stations in Jammu district. This operation, led by the SHO of PS Bishnah, was conducted under the close supervision of the SDPO R.S. Pura, SP Headquarters Jammu, and the overall guidance of SSP Jammu. Police have termed this arrest a significant breakthrough in their efforts to combat the drug menace and related crimes in the region. Further investigation is underway to uncover the network associated with the accused. |
