Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 20: A delegation from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Jammu & Kashmir, led by Dr. M.A. Alim, Vice Chairman of the CII Council, along with Sanjay Gupta and Sudanshu Sharma, met with Vishesh Mahajan, Transport Commissioner J&K, and Dr. Vikas Gupta, Director of Tourism Jammu, to discuss various challenges and explore future collaborations in the tourism and transport sectors. During the meeting with Dr. Vikas Gupta, the delegation raised key concerns affecting the tourism sector in Jammu, including infrastructure challenges and promotional activities. The Director assured the delegation of full support and collaboration to highlight the tourism potential of the Jammu Division. Dr. Gupta emphasized the importance of enhancing the region's tourism offerings and working together to overcome obstacles. Following this, the delegation met with Vishesh Mahajan, the Transport Commissioner, to address traffic-related issues, particularly the challenges posed by underage driving, which has led to several fatal accidents in the region. The delegation suggested measures to curb these problems and improve traffic safety. The Transport Commissioner welcomed the suggestions and assured the delegation of his support in implementing measures to reduce accidents and promote road safety. The meeting concluded with an agreement to collaborate on creating awareness, especially among the student community, to ensure safer roads and prevent accidents. Both officials expressed their commitment to working closely with the CII delegation to bring positive changes and enhance the socio-economic environment of Jammu & Kashmir. This collaboration is expected to further strengthen the tourism and transport sectors, creating new opportunities for growth and development in the region. |
