JAMMU, Dec 22: On the occasion of "Dogri Bhasha Mannata Dhiadda," Nami Dogri Sanstha (NDS) organized a special function to release the "Sanstha Geet" and honor distinguished personalities from the Duggar region. The event was graced by former Minister Jenab Ajay Sadhotra, who was the Chief Guest, and Advocate K. Nirmal Kotwal, President of the J&K High Court Bar Association, who presided over the ceremony. The dais was shared by Advocate Dogra Harish Kaila, President of NDS, and Prof. Anupama Sharma, Patron of NDS. The program was compered by Yash Pal Yash, General Secretary of NDS, and Dr. Chanchal Sharma, Organizing Secretary of the Sanstha. Capt. Lalit Sharma IFS, former APCCF and Convener of NDS, delivered the opening address, welcoming the dignitaries and participants. He spoke about the significance of "Dogri Bhasha Mannata Dhiadda" and highlighted the NDS's journey over the past 26 years. Capt. Sharma also remembered the contributions of Ram Nath Ji Shastri and numerous writers, poets, artists, social, and political workers who played a vital role in securing Dogri's inclusion in the 8th Schedule of the Indian Constitution. The event also witnessed the release of the "NDS Geet," written by Yash Pal Yash, composed by Kuldeep Saproo, and melodiously sung by Prof. Anupama Sharma and her co-singers. During the ceremony, Ravi Sharma, a renowned Santoor Maestro, music composer, and son of classical singer Dr. Jagdish Ram Sharma, was honored for his significant contributions to music. Jatinder Kaur, a celebrated singer who has enriched the Dogri language for decades, was also felicitated. Ajay Sadhotra, in his address, congratulated the Duggar community on the recognition of Dogri as a language in the 8th Schedule of the Indian Constitution. He emphasized that while this achievement has brought pride and national recognition to Dogras, more work needs to be done to preserve and promote the language. He assured his full support for the continued development of Dogri. Advocate Nirmal Kotwal expressed the need for "Mannata Dhiadda" to be celebrated as a collective festival throughout Duggar. He highlighted the rich cultural and traditional heritage of Jammu and Kashmir and stressed the importance of its preservation. The event concluded with Dr. Chanchal Sharma delivering a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all attendees and participants for their contributions to the success of the program. |
