Jammu, Dec 22: A review meeting of the Trikuta Nagar Welfare Society (Regd.) was held on November 22, 2024, to address growing concerns among the residents of Trikuta Nagar, Jammu. The meeting, chaired by Mr. R. P. Kakkar, President of the Society, highlighted the increasing number of thefts, including those involving buildings, scooters, and motorcycles. The residents expressed deep concern over the rising drug abuse and trafficking, fearing an eventual surge in ransom and kidnapping cases. While acknowledging the efforts of law enforcement, the society emphasized that the current manpower is insufficient to tackle these escalating issues. It was unanimously decided to call for the formation of a joint team of law enforcement and narcotics control officers to conduct checks, especially during late evening and early morning hours. The society suggested surprise naka and frisking operations in key areas such as black spots, parks, and narrow lanes of Trikuta Nagar to curb the rising crime. Additionally, concerns were raised regarding the safety of morning and evening walkers, particularly senior citizens and women, who are increasingly fearful of walking during odd hours due to the growing threat of crime. The meeting was attended by Er. Ashok Kumar Arora, Som Nath Kaul, Ramneek Dubey, Vijay Gupta, and Kewal Sher, who all shared their experiences and expressed their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of Trikuta Nagar residents. |
