NDPS Court reject pre-arrest bail of lady in heroin smuggling case | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 1: Special Judge NDPS Court Sunil Sangra rejected the pre-arrest bail application of one Zarina Akhtar Wife of Abdual Rehman, Resident of Degwar Tarwan Tehsil Haveli who was allegedly involved in heroine smuggling case. According to the police report that During investigation main accused Gulzar Hussain son of son of Hassan Din resident of Baghyal Dara District Poonch made disclosure statement that he received contraband "Heroin" 1kg and 231 gms from petitioner-accused Mst.Zareena Bi and told him to deliver the consignment to one Sikh person at Jammu. Petitioner is residing near to international Border and she remained constant touch with Gulzar Hussain through mobiles and whatsapp chats. Special Judge NDPS Sunil Sangra after hearing APP Riyaz Ahmed along withIO DySP East Sheezan Bhat for the prosecution, observed that That being said, the accused- Zareena Akhtar (Bi) person does not deserves for the concession of anticipatory bail as per the allegations reported against accused as stated in the FIR No 200 of 2024 offence under Section 8, 21 and 22 NDPS Act registered at police station Bahu Fort Jammu. Court further observed that to grant anticipatory bail in a case of this nature is not really warranted. In view of the above, in the present circumstances, this Court is of the opinion that custodial interrogation of the petitioner ought not to be denied to the investigating authority. Therefore, I find no good and sufficient grounds for enlargement of the petitioner on anticipatory bail and order dated 09.11.2024 of this court whereby petitioner admitted on interim anticipatory bail is hereby recalled. The custody of the petitioner Zareena Akhtar (Bi) is handover to Mr. Sheezan Bhat DySP Sub Division Officer City East Jammu in presence of Lady Head Constable Makhni Devi, No.565/J of Police Station Bahu Fort, Jammu in open court for judicial investigation. Resultantly, instant application for anticipatory bail is devoid of merit and accordingly dismissed. Whatever discussed or observed hereinabove is only a prima facie view and shall not tantamount to any opinion on the merits of the case. —(JNF) |
