JALANDHAR, Jan 2: The centre for distance and online education (CDOE) at Lovely Professional University conducted the Induction programs for newly enrolled students in online and distance mode programs for the October 2024 session. The events witnessed enthusiastic participation of students enrolled in various postgraduate, undergraduate, and diploma programs across diverse disciplines, including management, computer applications, information technology, science, commerce, arts, and library & information sciences. The induction programs aimed to familiarize students with the key systems and processes of the LPU online and distance learning ecosystem.
The sessions were thoughtfully designed to align with the guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC) for student induction programs under open and distance learning (ODL) and online learning (OL) modes. Key highlights included an engaging overview of the University's background, approvals, rankings & recognitions, the essential features of UGC regulations for ODL and OL programs, and insights into the learning management system, academic delivery, personal contact programme, LIVE classes on weekends, flexible examination system, evaluation processes, placement, and student support services.
Students had the opportunity to interact directly with senior university officials, including the Registrar, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Director, Heads, and faculty members of the Centre for Distance and Online Education.
