New Year celebrations turn ugly, 3 friends found dead

Bhaderwah, Jan 2: In a shocking incident, three youth out to celebrate New Year, were found dead in a Guest House here, officials said on Thursday.
The deceased were identified as: Ashutosh Rana, son of Dilip Singh, originally from Bhella, Doda, now residing in Purkhoo, Jammu. Mukesh Singh, son of Kuldeep Singh, a resident of Domana, Jammu. Sunny Choudhary, son of Subash Choudhary, originally from Bhawani, Tehsil Nowshera, now residing in Purkhoo, Jammu.
Their bodies were recovered after the hotel staff and family members failed to reach them. A police team, led by SHO Bhaderwah Inspector Sandeep Parihar, broke into the room where all three were found unconscious. A medical team from SDH Bhaderwah later confirmed their deaths.
Senior police officials, including SSP Doda Sandeep Mehta, Additional SP Vinod Sharma, SDPO Bhaderwah Wasim Hamdani, and EMIC Bhaderwah Parampreet Singh, inspected the scene. A Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team also examined the area.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT), led by Additional SP Bhaderwah, has been constituted to investigate the incident thoroughly. A medical board has been formed to conduct postmortem examinations to determine the exact cause of death and rule out foul play.
Police have initiated inquest proceedings under Section 194 BNS via DD No. 28, dated January 1, 2025, at Police Station Bhaderwah. Further investigations are underway.
