DC distributes Business Correspondent letters | | | Early Times Report
BARAMULLA, Jan 4: In a significant move towards enhancing financial inclusion and promoting rural development, District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa today distributed Business Correspondent (BC) letters to Krishi Udyamis working under the first phase of the Kisan Khidmat Ghars (KKGs) in Baramulla. This initiative in collaboration with KAMCO Bank Sopore is aimed at expanding financial services in rural areas and ensuring maximum coverage under government schemes such as PM- KISAN, KCC, PMJJBY, PMSBY, APY, PMKMY and PMFBY, while also promoting income-generating opportunities for KUs. The Kisan Khidmat Ghars are designed to serve as hubs for all agriculture inputs and farmer oriented services. The initiative will also expand linking banks with critical services like money transfer orders and micro ATMs, thus ensuring financial inclusion and streamlining cash flow processes, especially for farmers. Chief Planning Officer Baramulla Javed Ahmad, Chief Agriculture Officer Yadvinder Singh, Managing Director and General Manager KAMCO Bank Sopore and Daljeet Singh Nodal Officer for KKGs, were present during the event, highlighting the collective effort to drive this transformative initiative. With the launch of the KKG initiative, farmers in Baramulla will have better access to government schemes and financial services, empowering them to improve their livelihoods and strengthen the rural economy. The DC exhorted KUs to avail this opportunity in favour of there income and employment generation pursuit. |
