SHOPIAN, Jan 4: District Administration Shopian today distributed winter kits among numerous frontline workers of essential services departments, demonstrating its commitment to their well-being and safety during the ongoing harsh winter.
The distribution function was held at Town Hall, MC Shopian and was presided by DC Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar.
During the function, frontline workers of MC Shopian, Jal Shakti and KPDCL including drivers, line-men, sanitation workers and other staff associated with snow clearance and restoration of essential services were provided jackets, shoes and other essentials.
The aim of initiative was to acknowledge their selfless service in maintaining cleanliness & hygiene in the town and restoration of water and power supply lines across the length and breadth of district.
DC Shopian appreciated the efforts of frontline staff who worked hard during the last spell of snowfall for the early snow clearance and restoration of services.
He said administration is committed for taking all possible measures for their upliftment and asked them to perform their services with utmost sincerity and dedication. This initiative is a token of appreciation and small contribution from the district administration resources to provide some comfort to workers, recognizing their selfless service to the community, DC said.
The function was attended by ADDC, Dr. Nasir Ahmad Lone, ADC Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz, ACR, Shakoor Ahmad Dar, DIO, Showkat Hussain Ganie, XeN Jal Shakti, Ab Rashid Wani, CEO,MC Shopian, Mohammad Iqbal Butt and other officials/ frontline workers. |
