KATRA, Jan 4: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital (SMVDNSH) has successfully performed 100 cochlear implant surgeries, marking a significant milestone in advanced healthcare. Among its achievements is the youngest recipient, a 10-month-old child with bilateral implants, showcasing the hospital's focus on early intervention.
With the highest number of bilateral implants in the region, this accomplishment reflects SMVDNSH's commitment to excellence. The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board and Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) played crucial roles in funding surgeries, enabling access for underserved communities.
Led by Dr. Rohan Gupta, ENT and Cochlear Implant Surgeon, the hospital offers comprehensive care, from surgery to post-operative support. Dr. Yashpal Sharma, Executive Director, praised the Shrine Board's partnership, while Dr. M.M. Mathavan, Facility Director, highlighted the hospital's dedication to making advanced care accessible.
