358th Parkash Purab of Guru Gobind Singh Ji celebrated

JAMMU, Jan 6: The 358th Parkash Purab of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj was celebrated with great devotion at Gurdwara Digiana Ashram, Jammu, under the supervision of Shriman Mahant Manjeet Singh Ji of Shiromani Dera Nangali Sahib, Poonch. Thousands of devotees, along with representatives of various Sikh organizations, attended the Gurpurab Samagam with immense zeal and enthusiasm.
Prominent Sikh organizations like Sikh United Front J&K, Bhai Kanhiaya Nishkam Sewa Society J&K, Shiromani Akali Dal J&K, and Sikh Naujwan Sabha participated in the event. The Ragi Jathas, including Bhai Sukhpreet Singh Ji (Hazuri Ragi Shri Darbar Sahib Amritsar), Bhai Gurpreet Singh Ji (Ragi Jatha Jalandhar), and others, mesmerized the congregation with kirtans and shared teachings of Dashmesh Pita Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj.
Former Chief Minister Dr. Farooq Abdullah graced the occasion, highlighting the sacrifices of Guru Gobind Singh Ji for humanity. He urged the public to follow the Guru's teachings to create an egalitarian society. Dr. Abdullah reiterated his support for the Sikh community and recalled his contributions, including the establishment of Mahant Bachittar Singh College of Engineering and Technology in 1999.
S. Sudershan Singh Wazir, Chairman of Sikh United Front J&K, emphasized Guru Gobind Singh Ji's unparalleled contributions, including his sacrifice of his entire family for the welfare of humanity. He also reiterated the Sikh community's role in nation-building and expressed hope for the restoration of statehood to J&K, as promised by the central government.
Mahant Manjeet Singh Ji, while addressing the congregation, stressed the importance of adopting Guru Gobind Singh Ji's teachings, becoming Amritdhari, and contributing to education and societal betterment. He urged parents to guide their children away from drug abuse and other social evils.
Political leaders, including Raman Bhalla (Working President JKPCC), Dr. Narinder Singh (MLA), Vikram Randhawa (MLA), and others, extended their greetings on the occasion.
The event concluded with prayers for peace, unity, and the upliftment of humanity
