| Bovine smuggling bid foiled in Akhnoor, 6 bovines rescued | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 6: In a continued effort under "Operation Kamdhenu" to curb bovine smuggling, Jammu Police successfully foiled an attempt in Sub-Division Akhnoor. The Police team from Police Post Chowki Choura intercepted a Mahindra Bolero vehicle (Registration No. JK11G-3514) at Naka Gulaba Chapper, Chowki Choura, rescuing six bovines.
The vehicle was traveling from Khour towards Rajouri when it was stopped. Taking advantage of the darkness, the driver managed to flee the scene. The police seized the vehicle and rescued the animals. A case has been registered at Police Station Akhnoor under relevant laws, and further investigation is underway.
The local community has applauded the police for their strict and continuous action against bovine smuggling, ensuring the protection of livestock in the region. |
