DC Kupwara inspects snow clearance ops, visits key locations

KUPWARA, Jan 6: In order to assess the snow clearance operations and evaluate the overall post-snowfall situation in Kralpora area, Chowkibal and other towns of Kupwara district, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan conducted a comprehensive tour on Monday.
During the tour, the DC reviewed snow clearance activities being undertaken on Chowkibal - Tangdar road and Chowkibal-Manchattar road and inspected efforts to ensure roads are cleared off snow.
As part of her extensive tour, the DC visited the R&B Snow Control Room at Kralpora to review the deployment and functioning of snow clearance machinery.
She inspected the availability and operational status of snow removal equipment and other machinery. She interacted with the staff on duty and appreciated their efforts in ensuring prompt action during snowfall.
The DC directed the R&B and Beacon authorities to sprinkle salt on slippery spots of the roads.
During her visit to Sub District Hospital Kralpora, the DC interacted with the staff and patients, ensuring that healthcare services are functioning efficiently despite the inclement weather.
She reviewed the availability of essential medicines, heating arrangements, and other facilities, instructing hospital management to address any shortcomings promptly.
The DC also visited the main market area of Reddi Chowkibal and Kralpora to check the clearance of snow from roads and inner links and interacted with public ensuring that their concerns are addressed promptly.
While interacting with locals, DC listened to their grievances and assured them that the administration is working round the clock to restore all essential services.
She assured the public that the administration is fully committed to mitigate the challenges posed by the harsh weather besides reiterated that the district administration is monitoring the situation round the clock and urged all departments to maintain coordination to ensure minimal disruption.
