Early Times Report DODA, Jan 7: In light of the ongoing winter season and to ensure the safety and well-being of pregnant women residing in snowbound and far-flung areas, the District Administration Doda, under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Sh. Harvinder Singh (IAS), has taken a significant step by establishing Red Cross Bhawans at designated locations across the district. Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Doda, Dr. Om Kumar, stated that these Red Cross Bhawans have been set up in collaboration with the Health Department at key locations, including Girls Hostel GHSS Doda, Trauma Hospital Khellani, SDH Bhaderwah, CHC Thathri, and SDH Gandoh. These facilities are dedicated to providing specialized care to pregnant women from the respective areas to ensure safe deliveries. The CMO further informed that accommodation along with meals will be provided to the pregnant woman and her attendant during their stay at these facilities, ensuring comfort and proper care prior to their delivery. Dr. Om Kumar appealed to all pregnant women living in snowbound and remote areas to utilize these services by visiting the nearest Red Cross Bhawan. He emphasized that the initiative aims to prioritize the health and safety of both mothers and newborns during this challenging winter period.
