Joginder Singh (JKPS), Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu, conducted a comprehensive review visit to the RS Pura subdivision, focusing on border villages. They were accompanied by the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Jammu and SP Headquarters Jammu. The officials discussed strategies to curb the influence of land mafias and mischief mongers in the region, emphasizing preventive actions, including detentions under the BNSS Act, to maintain public order. Plans were outlined for addressing border residents' demands, such as constructing pulleys, culverts, and broadening link roads. The need for passenger vehicles to aid school-going children was also deliberated. A meeting at Samka village with sarpanches, panches, and locals aimed to understand grievances and implement effective resolutions. The delegation interacted with BSF personnel, reviewing security measures and assessing their needs. The team inspected facilities at Bal-Ashram, which houses destitute children, women, and juvenile delinquents. They also reviewed the functioning of the women and child helpline operational within the same premises. Discussions focused on enhanced coordination between BSF, police, and civil administration to ensure smooth functioning and effective preparations for Republic Day celebrations. A strong emphasis was placed on combating drug abuse through awareness and regular NCORD (Narcotics Coordination) meetings to address this growing menace. This visit highlighted the administration's dedication to addressing critical border area issues, promoting development, and strengthening peace and security through seamless collaboration among stakeholders. |
