Early Times Report SAMBA, Jan 8: The Samba Police have successfully solved a theft case reported at the Police Station Samba. Five accused have been arrested, and stolen items valued at approximately Rs 2 lakhs have been recovered. The case originated from a complaint filed on January 2, 2025, by Rakesh Kumar, a resident of Deon, Bari Brahmana, who serves at the District Court Samba. The complaint detailed the theft of water taps and electrical wires from the Judicial Quarters at the District Court Complex Samba. Following the complaint, an FIR (No. 02/2025) under sections 331(4) and 305 BNS was registered, and an investigation was launched. A police team led by the SHO of Police Station Samba, under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Samba and overall guidance of SSP Samba, worked tirelessly to crack the case. The arrested individuals were identified as: Sunil Kumar (R/o Muradhawad, UP; currently residing in Shiv Nagar, Vijaypur) Ganesh Kumar (R/o Vijaypur) Mohd Maqbool (R/o Bandipura; currently residing in Vijaypur) Karan Lal (R/o Shiv Nagar, Vijaypur) Vishavjeet Dass (R/o Gali Hukam Gate, Amritsar; currently residing in Shiv Nagar, Vijaypur) Upon sustained questioning, the accused confessed to their involvement in the theft, leading to the recovery of the stolen items. The investigation is ongoing, and further developments are expected. |
