Ramban, Jan 10: The NHPC Sawalkote HE Project (1856 MW) organized a two-day Free Medical Camp as part of its CSR initiative on January 8-9, 2025, in the villages of Tanger and Kanga, District Ramban. The camp, aimed at providing essential healthcare services to local residents, was inaugurated by Shri D. Boral, GM (Civil) and Head of Operations, Sawalkote HE Project, in the presence of senior NHPC officials, village Sarpanches, project-affected families, and local inhabitants. In his inaugural address, Shri Boral emphasized NHPC’s commitment to the welfare of the community and announced plans for further developmental activities around the Sawalkote HE Project. He assured the locals that more such health camps would be organized in the future to address their medical needs, especially given the limited healthcare facilities in the area. Over 600 residents from the two villages benefited from the camp, where they received free medical consultations, treatment, and medicines. The medical team, including Dr. Santosh Kumar (Gr. Sr. Dy. CMO, NHPC), Dr. KaramVir Hans (DCMO, NHPC), Dr. Mudasir, Dr. Ankula, Dr. Aditi, and Dr. Anirudh (Medical Officers), along with para-medical staff, provided healthcare services, including blood pressure and blood sugar level checkups. Dr. Opinder Singh, BMO Batote, also visited the camp on January 9, praising NHPC for its proactive approach in addressing healthcare challenges in remote areas. In addition to treating seasonal diseases, the medical team provided essential health advice on hygiene and sanitation practices. This initiative reflects NHPC’s ongoing commitment to the health and well-being of communities in and around the Sawalkote HE Project area. |
