Important to mention here that Tariq Hameed Karra was appointed as president of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) chief on August 16, 2024 replacing Vikar Rasool Wani. Kara was appointed president on the same day when schedule for the elections of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly were announced. Karra's approach also emphasizes inclusivity and the representation of diverse voices within the party. There is speculation that the new committee will include young leaders, women, and representatives from various communities and regions to ensure a balanced and equitable representation. The decision to form a lean and efficient team is seen as part of the Congress’s larger strategy to rebuild its political base in Jammu and Kashmir. |
