| Samba Police foils bovine smuggling bid, rescues 12 bovine animals | | | Early Times Report
Samba, Jan 10: Samba Police has successfully thwarted a bovine smuggling attempt in the Ghagwal area, rescuing 12 bovines and seizing the vehicle involved in the illegal transportation.
The operation took place at a routine vehicle-checking checkpoint at NHW Naka Tapyal, where a police team from Police Station Ghagwal, led by SHO PS Ghagwal, intercepted a truck (registration No. UK17CA-6084) coming from the Kathua side.
Upon checking, officers discovered 12 bovines cruelly tied inside the vehicle and being transported without valid permits.
The rescued animals were immediately transferred to a safe location. Police have registered a case under FIR No. 04/2025 U/S 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act at Police Station Ghagwal and initiated an investigation into the matter. |
