Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 11: The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) J&K Divisional Office Jammu successfully concluded a five-day "Capacity Building Program on Computer Education for Secondary School Teachers," held from January 7 to January 11, 2025. This program was designed to enhance the digital competencies of teachers, in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The program was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Sindhu Kapoor, Joint Director, JKSCERT Divisional Office Jammu, who underscored the importance of digital literacy in the contemporary educational landscape. She emphasized that equipping educators with up-to-date digital skills is crucial for modernizing teaching methods and ensuring students are well-prepared to thrive in a digital era. Fifty secondary school teachers from across the Jammu division participated in a series of comprehensive training sessions aimed at enhancing their digital competencies. Expert sessions were led by Navneet Gupta, Jewan Singh, Vivek Jandial, Dr. Balgar Singh, Puneet Thukral, Rakesh Chobber, Sanjay Kumar, Rajesh Hali, Rohit Sharma (all Academic Officers). The training covered a wide range of topics, including technological innovations in education and the application of emerging technologies such as AR/VR in teaching. A field visit to GGHSS Bakshinagar Jammu was also organized, providing participants with hands-on experience in AR/VR labs. This practical exposure helped educators understand the significance and potential applications of these technologies in enhancing the learning experience. The valedictory session was graced by Ms. Tahira Parveen Shawl, Head Academic Unit III and the ECT & CS Department, who applauded the participants for their enthusiasm and commitment. The session was also attended by Swaran Singh, Professor, Arti Gupta, Assistant Professor and Dr. Sanjeevani , Assistant Professor. Navneet Gupta, Academic Officer, served as the Coordinator of the program, with Vivek Jandial acting as the Co-coordinator.They ensured the seamless execution of the training sessions and associated activities. This capacity-building program reflects SCERT Jammu Division's commitment to fostering a digitally empowered teaching workforce, thereby enabling students to excel in a technology-driven world.Regards: |
