Jammu, Jan 11: The Crime Branch of Jammu and Kashmir has registered cases against ten individuals, including three former and serving government officials, for allegedly using fake qualification certificates to secure government jobs, promotions, and for submitting forged documents in legal proceedings.
Among the accused is Muhammad Farid, a former Deputy Inspector in the Fisheries Department, who allegedly used a forged 8th-grade school leaving certificate to gain employment.
Another accused, Raghubir Singh, a former forester, reportedly presented fake graduation mark sheets to secure a promotion to Deputy Forester.
In a related case, Muhamamd Munshi, a Head Constable in the IRP, was booked for using a fake qualification certificate to join the J&K Police. The case was registered following a grievance lodged by Lal Hussain, with recommendations from the Commandant of the IR-15th Battalion.
The Crime Branch also filed a case against seven individuals for presenting a forged compromise agreement in a court of law. Those accused include Abdul Karim, Muhammad Yousaf, Muhammad Hussain, Hussain Muhammad, Abdul Gafoor (all residents of Kupar Nagrota), Nazir Ahmed from Katal Batal, and Sadiq Muhammad from Paloura Upper Gujjar Mohalla.
The forged agreement was allegedly used before the Sub-Registrar Munsiff Court in Jammu.
Senior Superintendent of Police Crime Jammu, Benam Tosh confirmed that four cases FIR No. 01/2025, FIR No. 02/2025, FIR No. 03/2025 and FIR No. 04/2025, have been registered at Police station EOW, CBJ and investigations have been started to unravel further detailed facts in each case.
The investigations are underway to gather further evidence and uncover additional details in these cases.
