BLSKS celebrates National Youth Day

JAMMU, Jan 11: Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) celebrated National Youth Day at Indira Public Hr. Sec. School, Janipur, with the 475th Friday Series Musical Play "Nasha Cha Bachoo." The event, aimed at supporting the Nasha Mukat Bharat Abhiyan and promoting traditional J&K culture, was held in collaboration with Sangam Tru Art Production and the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India.
The musical play, written and directed by renowned writer Dr. M.L. Dogra, was performed by a talented group of artists, highlighting the dangers of substance abuse. Over 250 students and teachers took part in the event, with a pledge administered by Chahat Chadha. The Principal of the host school received a certificate from the Ministry of Social Justice.
The event was inaugurated by Chief Guest Ajay Kumar, Assistant Principal of Indira Public School, and honored by notable figures such as Joney Kumari, Coordinator Senior Wing, and Rakesh Kumar, Senior Teacher.
The play featured stirring performances with songs like "Nasha Na Karna - Man Lo Kehna," "Hogi Badi Khrabi," and "Ek Watan jaan Bi Denge Tere liye." Renowned music teacher Raju Bajgal composed the music for the play.
In his address, Kumar spoke about the theme for National Youth Day 2025, "Youth Empowerment for Nation Building," urging young people to actively participate in the country's development. He also appreciated the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan for its efforts to spread awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse, especially among the youth.
Dr. M.L. Dogra, Chairman of BLSKS, emphasized the significance of National Youth Day, which honors the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, and discussed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's upcoming participation in the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2025.
Mahesh Chander Kotwal, General Secretary of BLSKS, highlighted the importance of the Nasha Mukat Bharat initiative, focusing on high-traffic public spaces for cleanliness and awareness campaigns.
The musical performance was delivered by K K Joshi, Raju Bajgal, Bindia Okheda, Chahat Chadha, Kuldeep Raj, and others. The event was also streamed online for a wider audience.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Master Deepak Kumar.
