Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 11: Cluster University of Jammu has achieved a significant milestone in the field of teacher education with the recognition granted by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), New Delhi, for its B.Ed.-M.Ed. (3 Years) Integrated Course. This landmark recognition underscores the university’s commitment to excellence in higher education and teacher training.
Introduced in 2017, the B.Ed.-M.Ed. Integrated Course was the first of its kind in Jammu and Kashmir. It has since evolved into a flagship program designed to produce highly qualified teacher educators. The course’s innovative structure aligns seamlessly with NCTE’s regulatory norms and caters to students aspiring to earn dual degrees in education – a B.Ed. and an M.Ed. – within three years.
To enroll in this prestigious program, candidates must hold a Master’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 55% marks. The course curriculum combines theoretical knowledge with practical training, equipping students with the skills and expertise needed to excel in teaching and educational leadership roles. The program is tailored to prepare individuals for careers in teaching, education administration, and research.
The recent recognition from NCTE permits an intake of one unit, accommodating up to 50 pupil-teachers. This approval marks a significant achievement for the Cluster University of Jammu, further solidifying its position as a leader in teacher education. The program’s rigorous standards and adherence to NCTE guidelines make it a preferred choice for aspiring teacher educators.
The success of the B.Ed.-M.Ed. Integrated Course is attributed to the visionary leadership of Prof. K.S. Chandrasekhar, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor; Ms. Ankur Mahajan (JKAS), Registrar; and Prof. Mohd. Zubair, Dean, School of Education. Their unwavering commitment to quality education and innovation has been instrumental in bringing this recognition to the university.
Cluster University of Jammu’s dedication to maintaining high standards in education is reflected in its adherence to NCTE’s rigorous norms. The recognition of the B.Ed.-M.Ed. Integrated Course reaffirms the university’s role in shaping the future of teacher training in the region. As a hub for academic excellence, the university continues to provide world-class education, ensuring the development of skilled teacher educators who will lead the way in transforming the education landscape.
This recognition serves as a testament to the university’s pursuit of excellence and its commitment to fostering a brighter future for education in Jammu and Kashmir.
