Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 13: Sai Shyam College of Education and Sai Shyam Public Higher Secondary School, Ghou-Manhasan, celebrated the vibrant festival of Lohri with great joy and enthusiasm. The celebrations began with the ceremonial lighting of the bonfire by Sh. C.L. Tickoo, Chairman of the institution, accompanied by the Principal and staff. A special assembly was conducted, during which the significance of Lohri was discussed with students, emphasizing its role in marking the end of winter and the harvesting of winter crops in North India. Students presented colorful dances and melodious songs as part of the festivities. Younger students, dressed in vibrant traditional attire, joined teachers in singing folk songs and dancing around the fire. The event concluded with the distribution of prasad consisting of peanuts, revdi, and other treats, fostering a sense of togetherness and celebration among students and staff alike. |
