RAMNAGAR, Jan 21: The NSS Unit of Government Degree College (GDC) Ramnagar organized a workshop on soil sampling techniques as part of its "Know Your Soil" activity during the second day of the Special Winter Camp.
The event aimed to educate students about soil nutrients and practical soil testing methods, crucial for improving agricultural productivity in the region.
Session 1 featured a documentary by the J&K Directorate of Agriculture, followed by a lecture by Prof. Ritika Mahajan, NSS Program Officer and HOD Chemistry, on the importance of soil health for enhancing land productivity and supporting farmers' financial well-being.
In Session 2, volunteers visited the fields of the adopted village, Thaplal, collecting soil samples and raising awareness among local farmers about soil testing and health assessment.
The Principal of GDC Ramnagar applauded the NSS Unit's efforts, emphasizing their contribution to the social and financial upliftment of farmers.
