JAMMU, Jan 21: The 9th District Handball Championship for senior men began on Monday at the Sports Ground Lamberi in Rajouri. Organized by the District Handball Association Rajouri under the aegis of the J&K Handball Association and in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council, the tournament features six participating teams. The event follows a league-cum-knockout format. The championship was officially opened by Shri Naresh Kumar Sharma, Zonal Sports Officer of Dandesar.
The opening ceremony was also attended by prominent figures including Bharat Bhushan Sharma, P.E.M., Ashwani Sharma, Rajinder Sharma, and Abdul Majid. Hemchander Sharma, Secretary of the District Handball Association Rajouri, extended a warm welcome to the guests, players, and officials. Today's matches were officiated by Bharat Bhushan, Anil Sharma, and Pradeep Sharma. |
