Early Times Report SUNDERBANI, Jan 21: As part of the ongoing Road Safety Month initiative, Traffic Rural Jammu organized an awareness program on "Road Safety Measures" at Govt. Degree College, Sunderbani. The event aimed to educate students and staff about the importance of adhering to traffic rules and safe driving practices to reduce road accidents. Girdhari Lal Sharma, JKPS, SSP Traffic Rural Jammu, delivered an informative session, emphasizing the need to follow motor vehicle rules to minimize road mishaps and save lives. He highlighted the concerning statistics of road accidents in India, with a particular focus on Jammu & Kashmir and district Rajouri, and urged the participants to be vigilant and responsible road users. The program was arranged by Dr. Ashu Vashisht, Principal of Govt. Degree College Sunderbani, who also addressed the students and reinforced the importance of road safety. Inspector Manzoor Ahmed, DTI Sunderbani/Rajouri, along with other traffic officials, was present to lend support and share insights on traffic regulations. The initiative emphasized the role of education and awareness in fostering safer driving habits. The SSP announced that similar programs targeting students, drivers, and transporters would continue beyond January 31, 2025, as part of a sustained effort to save precious lives on the roads. The event was well-received by students and staff, who pledged to follow traffic rules and promote road safety in their communities. |
