Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 23: The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), J&K UT, under the leadership of Hon'ble Lt. Governor Sh. Manoj Sinha (President, IRCS J&K) and the supervision of Sh. Rohit Khajuria, General Secretary, IRCS J&K, carried out significant humanitarian activities aimed at community welfare. A three-day First-Aid Training Program for employees of M/S Godrej Agrovet Ltd., Nichino India Pvt. Ltd., and Crystal Crop Protection Ltd. concluded successfully. The training, conducted by medical officers Dr. Kavita Nijhon Verma and Dr. Manpreet Kaur, covered essential topics such as disaster management, wound care, fracture handling, burns, and emergency techniques like CPR and choking management. A special lecture on drug de-addiction was also delivered. Participants underwent practical and theoretical sessions, received free eye check-ups, and were awarded provisional certificates. Students from Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences, Batra, visited IRCS J&K to gain insights into its humanitarian mission. They learned about disaster response, health services, community initiatives, and the promotion of international humanitarian law. Dr. Kavita Nijhon and Dr. Manpreet Kaur provided an engaging session, encouraging students to volunteer and contribute to Red Cross initiatives. The visit concluded with the registration of students as Annual Associates by Ms. Vironica Marwah, Field Officer, IRCS J&K. These activities underline the Red Cross's commitment to community welfare and humanitarian service in the region. |
