RS Pura police arrest two notorious criminals, recover sharp-edged weapons | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 23: Demonstrating a zero-tolerance stance against crime, the R.S. Pura Police arrested two notorious criminals during a naka checking operation at Chakrohi on January 21, 2025. The operation, led by the Station House Officer (SHO) of Police Station R.S. Pura, resulted in the recovery of two sharp-edged weapons (Tokas) from their possession. The arrested individuals include Balbinder Kumar, alias Pandey, son of Daya Ram, a resident of Chakrohi, Suchetgarh. The second accused, a juvenile whose identity is withheld, is also a resident of Chakrohi. Preliminary investigation revealed that the weapons were intended for criminal activities to instill fear among the local population. However, swift action by the police thwarted their plans. An FIR (No. 14/2025) under Sections 3(5) BNS and 4/25 A. Act has been registered, and further investigation is underway. Balbinder Kumar, alias Pandey, is a habitual offender with eight previous cases registered against him. The arrests were carried out under the supervision of SDPO R.S. Pura, while SP Headquarters Jammu is closely monitoring the investigation to uncover additional details about the criminal network. The swift police action has been widely appreciated by the local community, sending a strong message to other wrongdoers to cease their illegal activities or face legal consequences. Police reiterated their commitment to safeguarding the innocent youth of the area and ensuring a safe environment by cracking down on habitual offenders.
