Farooq's 'BJP did nothing' remark reflection of his frustration: Kavinder
1/23/2025 9:30:50 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 23: In a strong rebuttal to Dr. Farooq Abdullah's recent statement, senior BJP leader and former deputy chief minister, Kavinder Gupta on Thursday criticized the National Conference leader's remark showing BJP's performance in the UT in bad light. In a statement issued to media persons, the BJP stalwart leader termed Farooq Abdullah's comments, which claimed that the BJP 'did nothing' in Jammu and Kashmir, as a reflection of his frustration in the face of the BJP's groundbreaking achievements in the region.
"The NC leader's statement, which tried to belittle the progress made by the BJP, is nothing but a desperate attempt to undermine the tangible advancements in J&K under the leadership of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government", he said and added that NC leader's unfounded claims are a clear sign of his frustration and the National Conference's failure to deliver meaningful progress over the past three decades. "While the NC was mired in political inertia, the BJP has brought significant changes to Jammu and Kashmir," the senior BJP leader said.
Kavinder pointed out that the BJP government has been instrumental in eradicating terrorism and restoring peace in the region, which had been plagued by violence under the previous administrations. "The fact that Jammu and Kashmir has seen a dramatic decline in terrorism-related incidents since the BJP assumed power is a testament to our commitment to ensuring safety and security for every citizen in the region," he said while emphasizing on BJP government's monumental strides in development across the Union Territory.
Kavinder also highlighted the restoration of the political environment in J&K. "Under BJP's leadership, J&K has seen a revival of democracy with the restoration of local elections, empowerment of the people through the DDC (District Development Council) elections, and the effective decentralization of power. This is something the NC failed to achieve during its long tenure in power," the senior BJP leader said while advising Farooq Abdullah to work for the welfare of people since his party is in power, instead of spreading baseless narratives against the Modi Government. " Farooq Abdullah's bid to downplay the BJP's accomplishments is simply an attempt to deflect attention from the NC's own failures. It is high time the people of Jammu and Kashmir recognize the reality and see through the hollow rhetoric of the NC. The BJP is working tirelessly to build a brighter future for the region, and we will continue to stand for peace, prosperity, and progress", he maintained.
