Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 30: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu has been highly commended for the BGA Business School Impact Award 2025, recognizing its outstanding contributions to student and community development. The award, conferred by the Business Graduates Association (BGA), honors institutions driving responsible management, societal betterment, and continuous improvement. IIM Jammu's Centre for Diversity & Inclusion, the first of its kind in India for underprivileged communities, received special commendation for its efforts in promoting equity and inclusivity. Established in collaboration with the Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DICCI) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the Centre was inaugurated on 9th June 2022 by former President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, alongside Lt. Governor Shri Manoj Sinha and other dignitaries. Since its inception, the Centre has empowered SC & ST entrepreneurs through mentorship, training, and essential business resources. Dr. Milind P. Kamble, Chairman, Board of Governors, emphasized that the recognition reaffirms IIM Jammu's commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable society. Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, lauded the Centre as a pioneering initiative in social responsibility, while Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Academics, highlighted academia's role in driving meaningful societal change. The AMBA & BGA Excellence Awards 2025 were held on January 24, 2025, at the Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington, London, celebrating global business school excellence. The finalists were selected by a panel of business experts, deans, and management leaders, recognizing institutions making a quantifiable impact on education, communities, and economies. This recognition solidifies IIM Jammu's position as a global leader in academic excellence, social impact, and nation-building, further strengthening its commitment to diversity, inclusion, and responsible management education. |
