Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 30: The Department of Horticulture, Jammu, conducted a Farmers' Awareness Camp/Kissan Mela at Satwari under the ATMA scheme, aiming to promote fruit crop plantation and educate farmers on various government initiatives. MLA, Dr. Narinder Singh Raina, graced the event as the chief guest, while Ex-BDC Chairman, Daleep Kumar, presided over the program. Joint Director Horticulture, Vikas Anand, welcomed the dignitaries and highlighted the department's efforts in promoting sustainable agricultural practices and increasing farmers' income through centrally sponsored schemes, especially HADP. Addressing over 100 farmers, including women, Dr. Raina urged them to collaborate with the Horticulture Department and avail benefits from various farmer-friendly schemes. He lauded the department's role in spreading awareness and supporting farmers. Chief Horticulture Officer, Sh. Rakesh Kotwal, emphasized Spring Season Plantation and elaborated on the benefits of HADP, particularly for unemployed youth. He stressed that the scheme equips farmers with modern techniques and resources to enhance productivity and profitability. The program proceedings were conducted by HDO Satwari, Sh. Dheeraj Sharma. |
