UDHAMPUR, Jan 30: District Police Udhampur foiled a bovine smuggling attempt in Chenani, rescuing 14 cattle. A police team from PS Chenani, led by the SHO, intercepted a vehicle (JK08J-9349) at a naka checkpoint. Upon inspection, the bovines were found tied cruelly and being transported illegally without valid permission.
The driver, Parvez Ahmed, son of Ashmat Ali from Kathua, was arrested on the spot. The rescued animals were shifted to safety.
A case (FIR No. 15/2025) has been registered at PS Chenani under relevant legal provisions, and further investigation is underway. |
