Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Jan 30: The Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA) Udhampur, in collaboration with SVP National Police Academy Hyderabad, is organizing a three-day specialized course on "Open Source Intelligence (OSINT)" starting from January 30, 2025. The course aims to enhance the investigative capabilities of J&K Police officers by equipping them with advanced skills in OSINT techniques, including social media analysis, geolocation tracking, and data mining. Expert trainers Shri Arif Ali Khan, Shri Shaik Ghousal Mubarak, and Shri Parmesh Naik from SVP NPA Hyderabad will conduct various sessions on the subject. The growing reliance on digital platforms has made OSINT a crucial tool in intelligence gathering, and this training will enable officers to responsibly analyze and interpret open-source data, ensuring effective interventions in criminal investigations. The inaugural function was attended by Shri Garib Dass, IPS, Additional Director General of Police and Director of SKPA, who emphasized the importance of OSINT in modern policing. He highlighted its vital role in crime detection, cyber investigations, and national security. The event was also attended by the Deputy Director and faculty members of SKPA.
