DODA, Jan 30: Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Doda today flagged off the Sparsh Leprosy Rally-Cum-Awareness Van, marking the launch of an extensive awareness drive under the Sparsh Leprosy Awareness Campaign. The initiative aims to educate the public about leprosy, eradicate misconceptions, and promote early detection and treatment across the district. The event was attended by BMO Ghat, Dr. Abdul Gafoor, Principal ANMT Doda, Smt. Vidya Kotwal, Javed Iqbal (Head Assistant), Mohd Shafi Attu (Health Educator), Sanjeev Rana (I/c Legal Section), Mohd Faheem Butt (FLO NCD), along with Leprosy Staff members Mr. Ram Raj and. Sajad Ahmed (both PMAs) and the staff of ANMT School, among others. The CMO emphasized the importance of awareness in eliminating the stigma surrounding leprosy and urged people to avail themselves of free diagnosis and treatment services provided by the health department. The awareness van will traverse different areas of the district, disseminating vital information and encouraging community participation in the fight against leprosy. The initiative is part of a broader effort to achieve a leprosy-free society by ensuring early detection, timely medical intervention, and public sensitization. |
