Early Times Report RAMNAGAR, Feb 4: The NCORD Cell, in collaboration with the NCC and NSS Units of GDC Ramnagar, organized an Awareness Campaign-Cum-Workshop on "Nasha Mukti Se Viksit Bharat Tak: The Road Ahead." The event, held under the patronage of Prof. (Dr.) Bhavnaish Chand Anthal, Principal, GDC Ramnagar, aimed to raise awareness about drug addiction and the youth's role in building a drug-free and progressive India. The event was graced by Rajinder Singh, SDM Ramnagar, as the Guest of Honour, along with Sh. Satpal Bhagat (BDO Ramnagar), Sh. Ranjit Singh (Axion PMGSY), officials from the Health Department, and renowned Dogri artist Sh. Babu Ram. Dr. Sham Singh, Convenor, NCORD Cell, welcomed the attendees and introduced the objectives of the workshop. Dr. Pankaj Sharma, the resource person, delivered an insightful talk on drug awareness, its consequences, and prevention strategies. Sh. Babu Ram also shared personal experiences, emphasizing the importance of staying away from substance abuse. The event featured a cultural session, including a Dogri Geetru (folk song) and a skit performed by NCC and NSS volunteers, showcasing the harmful effects of substance abuse. A Pledge Ceremony was conducted, where students and faculty reaffirmed their commitment to a drug-free society. Addressing the gathering, Prof. (Dr.) Bhavnaish Chand Anthal stressed the need for educational institutions to lead the fight against drug addiction. He highlighted the importance of awareness, responsibility, and community efforts in eradicating the menace. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Puyesh Kant Sharma, acknowledging the contributions of dignitaries, faculty members, and students.
