Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 4: In a major breakthrough, Jammu Police have successfully solved two kidnapping cases, rescuing the victims and apprehending the accused in the Domana area. The first case was reported on January 19, 2025, when a woman from Jammu lodged a complaint at Police Station Domana. She alleged that Sonu Kumar, son of Babu Ram, originally from Nabyua Kallan, Uttar Pradesh, and currently residing in Greater Kailash, Jammu, had kidnapped her 16/17-year-old daughter (name withheld) from their home. Following the complaint, an FIR No. 20/2025 under Section 137(2) BNS was registered, and an investigation was launched. In a separate incident on January 31, 2025, another woman from Jammu filed a complaint at Police Post Pouni Chak, stating that Md. Asfak, son of Md. Idaris, a resident of Jharkhand, had kidnapped her 24-year-old daughter (name withheld) from her residence. Consequently, FIR No. 28/2025 under Section 366 IPC was registered. Acting swiftly, special police teams from Police Station Domana were formed to trace the kidnapped victims. With extensive efforts and technical assistance, both victims were successfully recovered from outside the Union Territory, and the accused were arrested. After completing all legal formalities, the rescued victims were reunited with their families. Further investigations are ongoing to uncover additional details related to the cases.
