Jammu, Feb 4: In an effort to combat drug abuse and promote awareness, the Jammu & Kashmir Excise Department, City Excise Range South, Jammu, organized a Kabaddi match and painting competition at Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan. The event was held on the directions of Excise Commissioner Sh. Subash Chander Chhibber JKAS, and under the supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive) Jammu, Sh. Sanjay Bhat, and ETO, City Excise Range South, Ms. Rupali Vaid. A Kabaddi match was played between the 11th and 12th-grade students of the school, with Class 11 emerging victorious. The winning team received a trophy, certificates of appreciation, medals, and refreshments. The painting competition, themed around the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, saw active participation, with the top three paintings receiving awards, and certificates were given to all participants. Students also took an oath to stay away from drugs and pledged to help prevent their peers from falling victim to drug abuse. The event was attended by Principal Smt. Adarsh Sharma, staff members, students, and Excise department officials, including Inspectors Sh. Varun Chandan, Sh. Arun Kumar, Sh. Khalid Amin, Sh. Ashwani Kumar, and Sh. Naeem Choudhary, who motivated the students. The gathering appreciated the Excise Department’s efforts in raising awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and encouraging students to engage in sports for a healthier, drug-free future. |
