Agencies CHANDIGARH, Feb 6: On the occasion of World Cancer Day, the Health Committee of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, in collaboration with Motherhood Hospital, Sector 62, Mohali (Punjab), organised an interactive session. The resource person for the session was Dr. Sunaina Bansal, Consultant Obstetrician, Gynaecologist and Laproscopic Surgeon, Motherhood Hospital. Dr. Bansal provided a detailed insight on cancer, with focus on its causes, pre-symptoms of breast cancer, and cervical cancer. She highlighted the importance of healthy food and healthy lifestyle for strengthening the fight against cancer. Emphasis was laid on periodic screening and diagnosis of the disease for timely treatment. The audience was also educated about cervical cancer vaccine. Officiating Principal Ms. Suman Mahajan expressed appreciation for the efforts of Health Committee for being a part of this significant event in the global fight against cancer. She added that the session serves as a reminder of the pressing need for awareness, education, and action to reduce the impact of cancer worldwide. |
