KATHUA, Feb 6: In a successful crackdown against the drug menace, J&K Police Kathua recovered approximately 15.18 grams of heroin (chitta) and arrested one drug peddler in the Galak area under Police Post Ramkot.
On 05 February, a police team led by the In-Charge of Police Post Ramkot, under the supervision of SDPO Billawar and SHO P/S Billawar, conducted a routine naka/checking. During the operation, a suspicious individual, identified as Bhag Hussain, son of Shumma, resident of Garh Samna Banj, Tehsil Majalta, District Udhampur, was apprehended. Hussain was traveling on a motorbike bearing registration number JK02C-5275 when police discovered the narcotics hidden in his possession.
The recovered heroin-like narcotics, weighing approximately 15.18 grams, were seized along with the motorbike. The accused was arrested, and a case under FIR No. 15/2025 U/S 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Billawar.
