Early Times Report KATHUA, Feb 6: In a successful crackdown against the drug menace, J&K Police Kathua recovered approximately 15.18 grams of heroin (chitta) and arrested one drug peddler in the Galak area under Police Post Ramkot. On 05 February, a police team led by the In-Charge of Police Post Ramkot, under the supervision of SDPO Billawar and SHO P/S Billawar, conducted a routine naka/checking. During the operation, a suspicious individual, identified as Bhag Hussain, son of Shumma, resident of Garh Samna Banj, Tehsil Majalta, District Udhampur, was apprehended. Hussain was traveling on a motorbike bearing registration number JK02C-5275 when police discovered the narcotics hidden in his possession. The recovered heroin-like narcotics, weighing approximately 15.18 grams, were seized along with the motorbike. The accused was arrested, and a case under FIR No. 15/2025 U/S 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Billawar. Kathua Police has urged local residents to report any illicit activities related to drugs and assured confidentiality for those who come forward with information. |
