DODA, Feb 6: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Harvinder Singh chaired a crucial meeting today in the Meeting Hall of his Office to discuss and finalize the Panchayat-Level Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Campaign against Drug Abuse. The meeting aimed to formulate a comprehensive action plan to curb the drug abuse in the district and ensure effective awareness at the grassroots level. Senior officials from law enforcement, health, education, and social welfare, actively participated in the discussions. The District Programme Manager JKSRLM and the Nodal Officer of the Addiction Treatment Facility (ATF) Doda explained the community-driven rehabilitation efforts and vocational training for recovered addicts. The DDC directed all concerned departments to coordinate at the Panchayat level, involve local influencers, religious leaders, and youth organizations in awareness drives, and leverage digital platforms for outreach. Additionally, the nomination of nodal officers and the preparation of a Panchayat-wise calendar for awareness activities were discussed and finalized. It was decided that special awareness camps and rallies would be organized in vulnerable areas across the district. The meeting concluded with a collective commitment to tackling drug abuse through a multi-sectoral approach, ensuring a drug-free and healthier society for the youth of Doda.
