Early Times Report RAMGARH, Feb 27: The NSS Unit "Prabha" of Government Degree College, Ramgarh, inaugurated its 7-day Special Winter Camp on the theme "Women Empowerment" from February 27 to March 3, 2025. The event commenced with an inauguration ceremony, presided over by Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, Principal of the College. The camp aims to provide NSS volunteers with an opportunity to engage in social service activities, including personality development, community outreach, and environmental conservation. The event began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing enlightenment and unity. Welcoming the gathering, Prof. Andotra emphasized the core values of NSS, encouraging students to embrace the spirit of service. She highlighted the NSS motto, "Not Me But You," stressing the importance of working for societal upliftment and developing empathy and compassion through various outreach activities. Dr. Kailash Sharma, NSS Programme Officer of Govt. MAM PG College, Jammu, was the resource person for the event. He shared insights on the significance of NSS in nation-building and explained the NSS logo's meaning. He also briefed students on NSS history in India, motivating them with Swami Vivekananda's quote: "Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is achieved." The event was coordinated by Prof. Brahm Dutt, NSS Programme Officer, with the support of faculty members Dr. Aditi Khajuria, Mr. Ashok Kumar, Dr. Shivali Panjgotra, Dr. Neeraj, Dr. Susheel Kumar, Ms. Anjali, Ms. Priya Sharma, Ms. Sayema, and Mr. Darpan Malhotra.
