Srinagar, Feb 27: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri on Thursday said that uninterrupted power supply will be provided in the valley during the holy month of Ramadhan.
The Divisional Commissioner said this in reply to a question by media persons on the sidelines of a function here.
“Unscheduled power cuts remain most challenging for the authorities and despite inclement weather this year, the supply situation remained satisfactorily with the cooperation of all people”, he said.
Bidhuri said the administration is fully prepared for the holy month of Ramadhan with a high-level meeting scheduled for tomorrow to finalise preparations.
Asked about the alert amid inclement weather in Kashmir valley, the Divisional Commissioner said that much-needed rainfall has not significantly impacted power supply with 90 percent supply lines operational.
“Air and railway transport are running smoothly, while national highways remain open, except for border areas,” he said. |
