Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 2: JKPCC President Tariq Hameed Karra has lashed out at BJP for doing injustice to the people of Jammu & Kashmir by not fulfilling the commitment for statehood, since people didn’t give BJP mandate to rule in J&K.
Addressing a large gathering of Congress workers here today, Shri Karra acvused BJP of giving punishment to the people of J&K as the party didn’t get mandate to rule UT in the recent assembly elections. BJP wants to now rule by proxy through LG administration. This is great injustice to the people and a betrayal after repeated commitments for early restoration of statehood and this is defiance of Supreme Court direction also.
Carrying forward party’s mission for restoration of full statehood besides Jai Bapu Jai Bhim Jai Samvidhan, JKPCC Chief today addressed the rally at Salerh in Bishnah organised by the contested candidate and Aicc secretary Neeraj Kundan which was attendant by several senior leadership of the party.
Karra said that it is irony of the time that we have to demand the statehood from those in power, whose political ancestors sided with Britishers when Congress was fighting for freedom on the roads and in Jails. They have no history in freedom of country but trying to erase the history of Congress leaders in freedom struggle.
JKPCC Chief recalled the contribution of dogra warriors for expanding the boundaries of Jammu Kashmir Ladakh upto Gilgit - Baltistan but BJP dismembered the historical dogra state ruthlessly and now not willing to restore the same forcing people especially dogras to fight on streets.
Seeking mandate of people to support the movement of Congress- “Hamari Riyasat, Hamara Haq”, Karra asked gathering to raise hands as they responded positively. He praised Organisor of the rally and said that Shri Rahul Gandhi has encouraged and promoted young leadership at the national level including Shah Nawaz and IYC President Udey Chib from J&K,who were also present & addressed the gathering urging for support to Congress movement for statehood.
Neeraj Kundan in his address expressed gratitude to the people of Bishnah Assembly segment for giving him a lot of support in the elections and assured them to continue serving them. He raised the issue of smart meters and harasing poor consumers by disconnecting their power for default of payment.
He also raised the issue of eviction of poor farmers from the lands under their cultivation from decades. He also mentioned various issues of comon people who have been pushed to the wall by BJP govt and LG administration and asked people to rise to support Congress movement.
Working President Raman Bhalla thanked the people of Bishnah assembly for giving him huge support and votes of over 40000 votes during his Lok Sabha elections and now to Neeraj Kundan in Assembly elections .
He said people of Bishnah are secular and residing along border and have undergone great sufferings due to BJP policies. The government is snatching their lands and harassing them through water and power taxation. He raised the issue of left out settlement package of refugees and blamed BJP for betrayal with them.
Working President Shri Tara Chand reminded people of the constitutional guarantees & safeguards under Maharaja rule and post independence and the welfare measures for downtrodden.
He asked people to support the Congress movement for restoration of statehood to seek redressal of their grievances.
Ex- MP Ch Lal Singh referred to the struggle of dogras and dogra rulers to establish a vast state but BJP snatched our dogra state ruthlessly and arbitrarily against the wishes of all people including those of Jammu.
He lashed out at BJP for the loot of our resources, land and jobs after abrogation of special status and pressed for constitutional safeguards to save future generations.
